I've said it before but The Darkness gave me some really good times for a while (ending was a disappointment though, of course). the end of Act I and into Act II were intense and 'had me going'.

agree. I tried the Case Zero demo and was not impressed. IMO some movies/tv shows/and now games use children as a cheap way to try and rile my emotions. lame!

EDIT: ok I only tried the demo which had no survivors. according to this opinion piece it's the conflicting needs of Chuck's daughter vs. other survivors that get you going emotionally so I could be wrong.

hey, at least they got Bioshock right... right?

@FatOldMan: no, that's not what was said. what was said was, "who can compete with free?" and Beware Oblivion was right to call it out.

if assaulthero meant, "the cost isn't worth the extra features", that's what he/she should have said.

even if hardly ever used, BC could still have significant impact on perception of value to consumers. I've heard other n4g PS3ers say they don't/rarely use BC anyway - but that's only with the clarity of hindsight after purchase, isn't it?

the writing is a little off; but some good ideas were presented here and overall I say: nice article! :)

to all those attacking the Bits 'n' Bytes site: after some exploring of the site IMO it features better writing than MANY sites whose articles have (unfortunately) made their way onto n4g.

@TGM: I do generally disapprove of journalists creating n4g accounts to defend against comments, though. IMO, you need to get down everything that needs to be said in your article before submitting and leave it at that. using this :'( in particular makes you look pretty un...

I keep seeing the same Kinect ad repeatedly on Hulu. so I can assure you that, while the video depicts players using Kinect in large spaces, at no point does it mention large spaces being REQUIRED.

ok fine, I'll instead say I think there were some serious issues with your article (the ones I mentioned). personally I'd like to see perhaps a little more thought put into the overall structure so that we can really follow where you're going - but that's just 1 man's opinion.

*sigh* ...you had to go and be nice, didn't you?

I haven't noticed anyone posting Zero Punctuation to n4g before this, now that I think about it - which is surprising. I've watched pretty much every single video he's posted to The Escapist.

he's a little too harsh some times IMO. on the other hand, most reviewers don't call devs out for some of the cr@p that prob should be criticized.

you shouldn't be thanking me, I still meant what I said.

"He absolutely believes murder is wrong and remember, murder is unjust killing, and God is just by his very nature."

based on this I'd say you actually do agree with an independent morality and it's just that god perfectly understands an independent morality. which means it does not originate directly from him. which means that in theory at least humans CAN be moral without god; based on our own understanding of right vs wrong. which does in fact contra...

oh dear. well I appreciate you not being a d*** about it though.

the logic test posed by Immanuel Kant is sound. I'd guess you're getting hung up on 'why would god ever...?' (which was my initial reaction, too). but if you really think about it and follow the logic, morality MUST be independent.

as for where I think 'morality' REALLY comes from: evolution, baby! survival often becomes easier when we work together.

so Bethesda is making the New Vegas DLC - not Obsidian?

really? mod-able t1ts drive significant sales? really, kdog??

also, you offer up "[Duke Nukem] is one title in which we see the correct venues of the games development (gameplay, mechanics, etc.) taking precedence above the overall 'naked chick' factor." but you didn't bother to explain to us WHY Duke's b00bies are done right in comparison to New Vegas.

"Fallout NV aint exactly pretty on any platform." that's an understatement. but what else did we expect from Obsidian?

that may be true so I guess I'll retract my homophobe accusation. but I still say, look at the title of this article - we're already getting personal, y'know?

5687d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

morality dependent entirely on god has already been debunked, it fails a simple logic test. see, if god were the only source of morality - wouldn't we have to value murder & mayhem if he told us to do so? but don't we think that murder & mayhem are wrong in and of themselves?

I believe it was the philosopher Kant who proposed that logic test. he still believes god can exist though - just that he would have a perfect understanding of an INDEPENDENT moralit...

there are plenty here sharing 'personal' info. methinks you fixated on Element just cause he's gay which is... homophobic, or something.

@Element you made me think of Dafoe in Boondock Saints I lol'd.

I think bioware have done well developing their own styling of the turn-based formula. not mass effect - I mean KotOR & dragon age. KotOR & dragon age have auto-attack that make battles feel more fast-paced (while maintaining strategy - the strategy is in plotting a course thru the skill trees OUTSIDE of battle). dragon age adds further refinement/depth thru speed ratings for individual attacks. this is in contrast to 1 'real-time' speed bar for each character that I'v...
